These star-like flowers grace my woodland every year around the end of May into the first week or so of June. The Star of Bethlehem or Ornithogalum umbellatum likes to grow along the woodland edge where forest meets meadow. It grows in neat little clusters like the one shown and has grassy like foliage with a tinge of white variegation. This small, diminutive flower is indigenous to Connecticut and a pleasent sight to behold in late Spring. |
