The spider like branching habit of the invasive plant Berberis thunbergii or Japanese Barberry thrives in woodland conditions competing with the native, evergreen plant Lycopodium obscurum or Princess Pine. I think the image would be more serene and natural without the obnoxious Japanese Barberry. In my opinion the Japanese Barberry ought to be eradicated wherever it is found growing in Connecticut and used as an ingredient in biofuel production. |
