This is an image of a day's harvest of some of my organically grown tomatoes. This year's prize for taste goes to the cultivar 'Jetstar'. The 'Jetstar' cultivar will be planted in the 2009 garden as I was impressed with the taste and texture of these determinate type tomatoes. The term "determinate" means that the fruit ripens all at the same time. Whereas the term "indeterminate" means that the fruit will continue to ripen unabated until hard frost. The tomato cultivar 'Roma' is a good example of an indeterminate type of tomato.
