It's been an unusually wet spring this year. The sun was shining, my camera's batteries were recharged and off I went to see what I could see. This black butterfly is attracted to the white flower clusters of Viburnum dilatatum or the Linden viburnum which flowers in June and is often mistaken for the Wright's viburnum which flowers a few weeks earlier in May. More on that later. |
