hosui_asian_pears

The russet skin of the 'Hosui' asian pear is different than that of the '20th Century' pear which resembles the skin of a 'Bartlett' pear. The 'Hosui' asian pear is the one I find sometimes advertized on the supermarket shelf. Beautiful flower blossoms during Spring is another distinguishing characteristic of this plant. The foliage is somewhat susceptible to mold/fungus problems during humid and wet Connecticut summers. Well drained soil conditions are recommended for successful culture of this plant.
