Steve: When one lives in an area long enough some geographic entities become landmarks and a point of reference. So it is with this image of Four Mile Mountain which landmarks the boundaries of the Bella Coola Indian Reservation. From this point East white men can fish the Bella Coola river for many species of trout and salmon. That's how it was back in 1974. I have no idea what the fishing conditions are now or if the laws have changed or if there are any trout or salmon left to fish. Addendum: I have included the names of Rob and Don below because these guys said they would add their commentary to these images. We'll see. I saved their emails in case they forgot. Rob: Don: |
